Snow & Freezing Rain Expected Tonight

STATE – New Jersey residents can expect a wintry mix of precipitation tonight through tomorrow morning.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for much of the state, including Union, Middlesex and Somerset counties, until 1 p.m. tomorrow.

Snow is expected to begin falling tonight, mainly after midnight. Between 1-3 inches of new snow accumulation are possible. Snow and freezing rain are expected to switch over to all rain by tomorrow afternoon.

Sussex, Warren, Morris and northern Passaic counties are under a winter storm warning. They could potentially receive between 3-6 inches of snow and then up to a quarter inch glaze of ice, according to the National Weather Service.

The weather could cause travel delays and potentially dangerous driving conditions. Travelers should exercise caution during tomorrow morning’s commute.
