Judge Upholds South Amboy Election

SOUTH AMBOY – A Superior Court judge upheld the election of Fred Henry as the mayor of South Amboy on Tuesday.

After two recounts and the court decision, Henry’s margin of victory was just two votes.

The Democrat was sworn into office on New Year’s Day, but was limited to making provisional appointments until Judge Phillip Paley made his ruling.

Challenger Mary O’Connor planned to continue to seek a new election.
