UNION — Salem Roadhouse Cafe will host local folk legend Spook Handy for its first show of the 2011 season.
In the past, all Roadhouse shows have benefited various charities. The first four shows of 2011 are being dedicated to the Allison Hoshia MS Fund for Multiple Sclerosis research.
The Spook Handy show is on Saturday, Jan. 8 at 8 p.m. Doors at the Salem Roadhouse Café, 829 Salem Road, Union, will open at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $15, with a student discount of $10. Admission includes the show, hot and cold snacks, beverages, gourmet coffees and teas, and desserts.
Spook Handy, from New Jersey, has performed with Pete Seeger, and is nationally known for his wit and look at life. He performs his music in a classic American folk style, and often gets his audiences involved in the songs..
