SCOTCH PLAINS — Hear Imperial Brass perform its Winter Festival Concert on Sunday, Jan. 23 at 3 p.m. at its home base, Willow Grove Presbyterian Church in Scotch Plains. Imperial Brass is a 30-piece brass ensemble known throughout New Jersey for performing a diverse array of musical numbers.
The concert will feature classics of J.S, Bach, Mozart, George Gershwin and will include arrangements by Mark Freeh, Erik Leidzen, Paul Nagle, Pat Burns and Joseph Turrin. Performing as soloists will be Mitch Brodsky, Ryan Krewer, Barry Morrison, Gerard Wells, Mike Stephenson, and Tobie Baldwin.
Originally formed under the auspices of Rutgers University, Imperial Brass has performed in churches, band festivals, schools and universities since 1991. Its repertoire includes classical, pop, Broadway and movie music, and big band jazz classics.
Tickets are on sale in advance and at the door. Ticket prices are $15, seniors and students $12, and free for children 12 and under. Following the concert, a reception with light refreshments will be held in Alexander Hall.
