Zielinski Honored As Historian Of The Year

LINDEN — Marybeth Strano, acting president of the Linden Historical Society, and Michael Demkowicz, society vice president, presented “The Historian of the Year Award” to Stephen T. Zielinski at the Linden City Council Meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 21.

Zielinski’s dedication to spending months researching 50 years of the Linden Retired Men’s Club and creating a Power Point presentation that also included historic photographs for the club’s anniversary and for the city’s residents, earned him the Linden Historical Society’s  “Historian of the Year Award“.

Zielinski is vice president of the Linden Retired Men’s Club and the Linden Chapter of AARP where he and his wife, Mary Ann, serve on the Board of Directors. Together they plan and decorate the Retired Men’s Club for social events that are so popular, they have led to increased membership.

The Linden Historical Society is proud to have Zielinski’s presentation “The Linden Retired Men’s Club, The First Fifty Years” in its library.
