CRANFORD — Calvary Lutheran Church, 108 Eastman Street, Cranford, invites the community to celebrate the joy of Christmas at services designed for all ages on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
The Rev. Carol Lindsay, Calvary’s pastor, will preside and preach at all services. Music will be under the leadership of Jeanne Elmuccio, organist and choir director.
Friday, Dec. 24 offers three opportunities for family worship, starting with a young children’s Christmas Eve Service at 5 p.m. This service will include simple carols, the reading of the Christmas story and the placing of the nativity figures by some of the children.
The 7 p.m. Family Service of Holy Communion will feature seasonal music provided by the Children’s Choir. Instrumental accompaniment will include organ, trumpet, violin and piano.
The 10 p.m. Candlelight Service of Holy Communion will feature music by the Calvary Hand Bell Choir and seasonal anthems and carols by the Calvary Choir, accompanied by organ, trumpet and bassoon.
A Festival Service of Holy Communion with seasonal music will be celebrated on Saturday, Christmas Day, at 10:30 a.m.
On the two Sundays following Christmas, Dec. 26 and Jan. 2, Calvary will offer a single worship service with Holy Communion at 10:30 a.m. The church will return to its regular Sunday worship schedule of 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on Jan. 9.
