Elizabeth Man Arrested For Attempting To Use Fake Credit Card

LINDEN – Police arrested an Elizabeth man on Saturday who allegedly attempted to use a fake credit card to buy $1,200 worth of electronics from WalMart on West Edgar Road in Linden.

Mohammed Sambare, 22, allegedly attempted to use a Discover card and Massachusetts driver license identifying him as “Rahil Malik” to purchase five Apple iPods. Sambare could not recall basic personal information on the license, police said.

He was charged with forgery and exhibiting a false document. Bail was set at $12,000 cash. Sambare was also wanted on contempt warrants from Elizabeth and Linden, according to police.
