Students Help St. Mary’s Parish Prepare For Christmas Drive

SCOTCH PLAINS – Students from Union Catholic High School were excited to pitch in when a call for volunteers came in from Sister Mary Eleanor at St. Mary’s Parish in Rahway.

Each year St. Mary’s holds a successful Christmas Drive bringing in gifts and clothing for local families in need. In an effort to streamline this process and organize the items, 13 students from the Peer Ministry Social Justice Committee and the Performing Arts Tech Crew assembled numerous shelving units in parish center.

“It is always a great day when students come together to volunteer and this was no exception,” said faculty moderator John Becht. “St. Mary’s is a wonderful parish community for the work they do for those in need and we were happy to be a part of it.”
