STATE — The New Jersey State Police and the New Jersey Office of Emergency Management are conducting an emergency drill this week to test first responder deployment and response capabilities in New Jersey’s Urban Areas Security Initiative region as part of their ongoing commitment to the Secure the Cities Initiative.

Drill activities will take place in areas throughout Bergen, Hudson, Essex, Passaic, Morris, Union and Middlesex counties.

During the drill, there will be an increase in uniformed New Jersey State Police and local personnel as well as emergency vehicles/resources. According to the state Office of Emergency Management, this is not a cause for alarm and no traffic delays are expected.
