Edison To Hold Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony

EDISON — Mayor Antonia Ricigliano, the Edison Municipal Council and the Edison Recreation Department announced the lighting of the township’s 25-foot live Blue Spruce Christmas Tree will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 8.  The celebration will begin at 7 p.m. sharp, at the Minnie B. Veal Community Center, 1070 Grove Avenue, Edison.

This annual family event is also one of Edison’s most popular. Starting the evening’s festivities at 6:15 p.m., A “Dickens” quartet will warm up the crowd with seasonal favorites.  The arrival of Santa and the lighting of the tree will take place at 7 p.m.  Back inside, following the tree lighting, the J.P. Stevens High School Brass Ensemble, the John Adams Middle School Chorus and the Star Essence Dance Studio will entertain.  Free holiday refreshments will be available throughout the evening as well as a children’s craft table.

After the tree lighting, everyone is invited to bring their cameras and visit with Santa.  For additional information, call Edison Recreation at 1-732-248-7312.
