LINDEN – Two Staten Island residents were victims of carjackers Monday night in the parking lot of a South Park Avenue restaurant, police said.

Around 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 29, the two victims – a 43-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman – were leaving TGI Friday’s when an armed man prevented the woman from closing the door of their 2010 Infiniti FX35. The man pointed a handgun at her and pulled her out of the car. He forced her to the ground and took her Blackberry cell phone, police said.

A second man told the male victim to get out of the car. The two robbers got into the running vehicle and drove out of the parking lot headed north on South Park Avenue towards East Elizabeth Avenue, according to police.

Officers reviewed video footage of the parking lot and believe that the suspects arrived in a dark-colored Dodge Intrepid, which followed the victim’s car out of the lot.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the crime to contact Det. David Kother at 908-474-8556 or email crimetips@police.lindenes-nj.org.
