Rutgers Students And The Community-At-Large Get Together On The Dance Floor

NEW BRUNSWICK–On Saturday, Dec. 4, Rutgers Students and the Community-at-Large will gather to dance to music provided by Brian Nash.

The dance social takes place from 8 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. at the College Avenue Gym, 130 College Avenue, New Brunswick. Dancers of all ages may attend with or without a partner. This crowd is very friendly and likes to mingle. The dance is sponsored by the Rutgers University Recreation Instructional Program.

Prior to the dance social, Brian Nash, founding coach of the Rutgers University Ballroom Dance Team, will teach a two-hour workshop for experienced dancers covering American Style Waltz and Cha-Cha from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. At the same time, Carmen Valverde, founder of the dance program at Rutgers Recreation, will teach a basic American Style Viennese Waltz and Merengue workshop for beginning dancers. Prior experience is neither expected nor required for the basic workshop.

Admission for the dance social is $10 or $5 for Rutgers students, faculty, and staff, payable at the door. Admission for either workshop is $15 or $8 for Rutgers students, faculty, and staff, also payable at the door.
