Roselle Business Offers Prize For Largest Food Donation

ROSELLE – Metrofuser, a company that re-manufactures and distributes HP-Lexmark printer parts, is taking action to fight hunger in New Jersey by offering a $100 prize for the largest donation at its office in Roselle.

The public can make donations at 263 Cox Street at any time Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. The company will post a chart of the largest donors and award the prize after Jan. 7, 2011. Most wanted food items include canned meats, fish, chili, fruit, vegetables as well as peanut butter and boxed meals. Glass containers and cellophane should be avoided.

The Community FoodBank of New Jersey is reporting that need for food is up 30-40 percent throughout the state at its partner agencies – soup kitchens, pantries, shelters, etc. – and this event is taking aim at the problem.
