Cranford To Hold Tree Lighting Ceremony On Nov. 26

CRANFORD — On Friday, Nov. 26, the Cranford Chamber of Commerce will hold its “Holiday Tree Decorating and Lighting”.

Starting at 9:45 a.m. the Daisies will decorate the Holiday Tree. At 10:15 a.m. the Brownies will add their decorations to the tree, and then at 10:30 a.m. the Jr. and Sr. Cadets will finish.


The Holiday Tree is located in Mayor’s Park next to the gazebo at the intersection of North Union and Springfield Avenues.

At 1 p.m., a petting zoo co-sponsored by Cindy Smith Dance Studios on Orange Avenue, and pony rides co-sponsored by St. Michael’s Church will be set up in the parking lot next to Mayor’s Park.

At 5:30 p.m. that evening the Madrigals and Brass Ensemble from Cranford High School will provide holiday music.

At 6 p.m., Santa will arrive on the big red fire truck to light the holiday tree. Starting at 6:15 p.m., Santa will greet the children at the gazebo, with each child receiving a “gift”. Photos with Santa are available for $3

On Saturday, Dec. 11, from 9 to 11 a.m., you can join Santa for breakfast at Garlic Rose on 28 North Avenue. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children. Call 1-908-276-5749 for reservations. Pictures with Santa will be available for $3 each.

On Saturday, Dec. 18, from 10 a.m. to noon, Santa will be at Centennial Village (Lincoln and Centennial avenues) for pictures at $3 each. From 1 to 4 p.m., the Red Trolley will take Santa and the children on rides through Cranford, singing holiday songs and having fun. The trolley will depart from Gazebo at North Union and Springfield Avenues. This event is co-sponsored by Two River Bank at 104 Walnut Avenue.

In the event of rain, all events will be held on the following day.
