KENILWORTH — Daria Resnick and her kindergarten class from St. Theresa School in Kenilworth recently had a home economics class and baked their own apple pies.

The students read the story “Apple Farmer Annie” by Monica Wellington they learned how products from nature can be used to make many different items. From an apple they all got to make their own personal size apple pies.

With the help of aides Melissa Felicio and Karen DeMaio, each student cleaned and added the ingredients for a pie, which was baked in the school cafeteria. The children got to take home the recipe along with a delicious apple pie for just in time for Thanksgiving.
