St. John 6th Graders Perform Musical Based On Letters To God

CLARK — The sixth grade music classes from Saint John the Apostle School in Clark recently presented the musical “Dear God!” In preparation for this show, students in the lower grades wrote letters to God.  Many of the lines and themes in the show were based on these letters.

The production was under the direction of Tom Pedas, music teacher at Saint John. It was a culmination of work done during the sixth grade music cycle and included all 52 sixth graders in the school as a part of the production.

Leads in the cast were Robert Gaudenzi of Linden, Conor Flood of Scotch Plains and Victoria Machado of Colonia.  Double cast in the other two leading roles were Sofia Coelho of Hillside and Sophia Knurek of Linden and as their little brother Luke Alexander and David Marques, both of Linden.

Students ran the entire production, assisted by their music teacher.   In charge of lights and sound were Tyler Weiss and Jakub Legocki.  Stage managers were James Bledsoe and Michael Palay.  In charge of props were Kaitlyn Shrubsall and Kelly Wohltmann.

Other featured actors and singers included Justin Alves, Joseph Chrobak, Patrick DaSilva, Loyce Kawira,  Helena Marchwinski, Moises Oliveri, Sabrina Saroza, Matthew Singh, Joanna Sosa and Myriah Williams.
