RAHWAY — Recently, the Rahway High School chapter of DECA invited guest speakers to attend several marketing classes at the school. They offered insight and advice on the business world to students and members of the high school’s chapter of DECA.
DECA, formerly known as Distributive Education Clubs of America, also known as Collegiate DECA on the college level, prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe. With over a 60-year history, DECA has touched the lives of more than ten million students, educators, school administrators and business professionals.
At Rahway High School, the members of DECA coordinate weekly bagel sales to students and staff and host several guest speakers from the business world. Many DECA members hold jobs outside of school. DECA prepares these students for college and careers by providing co-curricular programs that integrate into classroom instruction, applying learning in the context of business, connecting to business and the community and promoting competition.
