PERTH AMBOY — The Puerto Rican Association for Human Development, Inc. (PRAHD) invites the residents of Perth Amboy and surrounding areas to celebrate Puerto Rico Discovery Day on Sunday, Nov. 14.

The program includes a Mass at 1 p.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church. The Puerto Rican flag raising ceremony will follow with a special recognition to outstanding community members at the Perth Amboy City Hall Circle at 2:30 p.m. Among those recognized will be Superior Court Judge Mathias Rodriguez; Yvonne Taylor, vice president, corporate cash manager of the Provident Bank and Gilbert Julian Roche, outstanding student.

At 3:30 p.m., a colorful cultural activity will take place at PRAHD, located at 100 First Street, Perth Amboy. The free event will be highlighted by the music of folkloric groups such as Danza Fiesta Baile y Teatro Puertorriqueño, José Gerena and his Trio, and the Trovadores, who will provide entertainment for the whole family, in addition to ethnic food and refreshments.
