CRANFORD – On Nov. 9, the town of Cranford and Mayor Mark Smith proclaimed the week of Nov. 7-13, 2010 as United Way of Cranford Week in tribute to United Way of Greater Union County’s Cranford Community Council in their efforts.
United Way of Greater Union County and the Cranford Community Council work together in Cranford by bolstering the areas of education, income, health, and family strengthening – the core building blocks for a good life. In accepting the proclamation, Jerry DeNigris, Cranford Community Council Chair, thanked the citizens of Cranford for supporting the United Way Cranford Community Council over the years and urged everyone to support this year’s campaign.
In keeping with the United Way of Cranford Week, the Council also held their campaign kickoff on Thursday, Nov. 11 by handing out flyers with information about United Way and their work in the Cranford community, at the Cranford Train Station.
The Council also asks that the community mark their calendars for the Second Annual Taste of Cranford, to be held on Sunday, March 6, 2011. To learn more, visit: www.uwguc.org/tasteofcranford.
