Rahway Plans Veterans Day Program

RAHWAY – The Rahway Veterans Central Committee will host its annual Veterans Day ceremony on Thursday, Nov. 11 at 10:30 a.m. The event will take place at the monuments, dedicated to those who made the supreme sacrifice in service of their country, located at West Grand Avenue and St. Georges Avenue.

Mayor James Kennedy is scheduled to welcome all attending the ceremony and present a wreath. George Malsam of VFW Post 681 will be the master of ceremonies. Lee Thor of American Legion Post 5 Ladies Auxiliary will speak.

Members of American Legion Post 5 and Post 499, VFW Post 681, Catholic War Veterans Post 361, Vietnam Veterans Of America, Purple Heart Chapter and the associated ladies auxiliaries will participate. The Rahway High School Marching Band, Rahway Marine JR ROTC School Band and the Rahway High School Marine JROTC will also take part.

Pastor Whitlow of the Zion Lutheran Church of Rahway will give the invocation and benediction.
