NEW BRUNSWICK — The Hub Kings can found in their New Brunswick homebase the remainder of 2010.
The Hub-Kings, an instrumental “Soul-Jazz” trio, will appear at the Court Tavern on Wednesday, Nov. 10 and Wednesday, Dec. 8, at the Court Tavern from 7- 9:30 p.m.
On the second Wednesday of each month, attendees can expect to hear the band debuting new material and being joined by local players in a casual intimate atmosphere.
New Brunswick’s Court Tavern is located at 124 Church Street.
Live music from the band’s recent Court Tavern appearance can be found on their website, www.hubkings.com
Born in retro basement bars, to the sounds of spinning vinyl, the Hub Kings conjure a setting where high ball glasses tip to head bopping funk and bossa beats.
The band is centered on the smoky tones of the Hammond organ, whose swanky sound dominated urban centers like New Brunswick and Newark in the 60s and 70s.
