STATE – FreshDirect, a leading online grocer, announced the addition of 29 new communities in New Jersey’s Essex and Union counties over the next two months to its roster, tripling its presence in the state. Orders for delivery to Essex County are now accepted and delivery will begin in Union County on Nov. 1.
A staple for many in New York City, and already available in 12 communities in Hudson County, FreshDirect continues its efforts to expand and grow in more suburban neighborhoods. New customers who register at www.FreshDirect.com will receive $50 off their first two orders.
“FreshDirect has experienced strong growth since entering New York City eight years ago. Following a successful launch into new neighborhoods in Connecticut and Westchester County earlier this year, we’re excited to begin serving more neighborhoods in New Jersey,” said Rick Braddock, chief executive officer of FreshDirect. “Our goal is to transform grocery shopping for our customers through our superior-online shopping experience, offering some of the freshest and highest-quality foods. This is another significant milestone as we look to saturate the tri-state area and beyond.”
For the first time, FreshDirect is available to New Jersey residents in Livingston, West Orange, Upper Montclair, Caldwell, Maplewood, South Orange, Verona, Glen Ridge, Cedar Grove, Fairfield, Millburn, Roseland, Short Hills, Essex Fells, Montclair, Bloomfield, and Nutley in Essex County.
In Union County, service will be expanded in November 2010 to Westfield, Summit, Cranford, Scotch Plains, Berkeley Heights, New Providence, Springfield, Fanwood, Roselle Park, Mountainside, Clark and Garwood. FreshDirect will continue to deliver to Cliffside Park, Edgewater, Hoboken, North Bergen, Weehawken, Union City, West New York and Jersey City.
“Our customers are drawn to FreshDirect because of our convenient, seven-day home delivery service, and keep returning because of our excellent service and fresh, high-quality food,” said Monica Woo, Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer of FreshDirect. “This significant expansion is a direct result of the strong demand we have experienced from New Jersey family’s and singles for our service.”
