May Elections Will Be A Memory In Perth Amboy

PERTH AMBOY – Last week, the City Council voted 3-1 to change the date of its non-partisan general election from May to November in 2012.

The move is expected to save the city $50,000 in elections costs and is hoped to increase voter turnout.

As a result of the change, the terms of all current elected officials will be extended until after the new election date.
