“…finyl vinyl…”

yes…there is a new documentary out that hits the mark for every musician, music lover, singer, songwriter, in fact…anybody who even listens to music, have said they like music, or say they know about music… you have to watch this documentary…

it’s called “i need that record!”, and it’s all about the demise of the record store…not the big box places like wal-mart or target, we’re talkin’ here about the real music stores, the ones that still sell vinyl, where music lovers not only shop, but also work, so that you could actually see what an album jacket is supposed to look like, feel like, and smell like, at 12-inches, rather than the size of a postage stamp…

and that’s where most record labels today mess up…they hire beancounters who only care about the ‘business’ end of it all…money, money, money… and the big box stores only care about the popular top twenty nonsense, instead of investing in quality and variety…

and you would be surprised how many people still prize their vinyl…there is a large, large, large majority of music listeners who cant stand what cds have done, no less the precious internet…

ah…the internet…something I use everyday for good, yet can be so destructive at the same time…

many…too many…people get their music by downloading, which has killed the music industry as a whole, and record sales have plummeted…

you truly need to have a love for the music to call yourself a music lover…it’s about the art of it all…

in fact, the independent shops care so much about the music they sell, one clerk summed it up best…”it’s like serving communion”…

amen…
