PISCATAWAY – The Diocese of Metuchen will sponsor “Hope and Healing: A Day for Bereaved Persons and Families” on Nov. 13 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the St. John Neumann Pastoral Center, 146 Metlars Lane in Piscataway.
Passionist Brother André Mathieu, C.P., who has more than 30 years of experience in preaching and specializes in retreats for bereaved persons and their loved ones, will lead the event.
Sponsored by diocesan Office of Family Life, the “Hope and Healing” day will include talks given by Brother André, followed by time for personal reflection and recollection.
The event will also include a group discussion facilitated by Brother André where family members will have the opportunity to talk about their loss.
In addition to discussing ways of coping with grief, Brother André will encourage participants to talk about their loss and will dispel common misconceptions that can accompany the loss of a loved one. Although people grieve differently, Brother André uses hope and encouragement to demonstrate the importance of dealing with grief in a healthy way, emotionally and spiritually.
Lunch and materials are included in the event fee, which is $15 for an individual or $45 for a family of three or more. To register, visit www.diometuchen .org, call the Family Life Office at (732) 562-1990, ext. 1624, or e-mail email@example.com.
