WOODBRIDGE – The National Organization for Women has endorsed Democrat Ed Potosnak in his bid to unseat Republican Congressman Leonard Lance.
In a statement, the group said: “Ed’s strong commitment to protecting and advancing equal rights makes him a great champion for women. We look forward to working with Ed Potosnak in Congress to advocate for women’s rights.”
“I am proud and grateful to have the support of the National Organization for Women,” said Potosnak. “When I go to Washington, I will be a champion for women’s right, women’s health, and equality.”
Potosnak also has the support of a number of Union County public officials, including the mayors of Winfield and Fanwood, state Assembly members Jerry Green, Linda Stender, Joseph Cryan and Annette Quijano, and state Sen. Ray Lesniak.
“Ed Potosnak will fight for senior citizens, protect social security, and make sure that seniors never have to choose between buying their groceries and seeing their doctor,” said Green. “Republicans are determined to raise the retirement age on Social Security, re-open the donut hole, and look out for special interests instead of our families and businesses.”
“I am proud to endorse Ed Potosnak,” Lesniak said. “He will be a champion in the fight for marriage equality.”
