JERSEY CITY– The Kean University women’s volleyball team swept host New Jersey City University, 3-0, Tuesday evening in a rescheduled matchup.
The Cougars, who have won eight of their last ten, defeated NJCU by the final set scores of 25-16, 26-24, 25-22. Their overall record improves to 19-15 and 2-5 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. The loss drops the Gothic Knights to 7-18 and 0-7 in the NJAC.
Kean was led by current NJAC Player of the Week Nicole Bolash who had 15 kills and eight digs with a .345 hitting percentage. Junior Tara Richey tallied three blocks along with 12 kills and a .571 hitting percentage. Libero Mary Aldana recorded 17 digs with two service aces. Senior setter Colleen Masterson had 29 assists and 11 digs while adding seven kills and no errors good for a .467 percentage on the evening. Junior Heather Aliotta added 11 digs and three aces in the win.
The Cougars close out the conference regular season on Thursday at William Paterson University.
