UNION – Ramapo College defeated host Kean University, 3-0, in New Jersey Athletic Conference action on Thursday evening.
The Roadrunners (19-3, 6-1 NJAC) won the straight-set match (25-18, 25-20, 27-25), as Ramapo fought off set point in the third set and rallied to score five of the set’s final six points to win the match.
Roadrunner outside hitter Michelle Ferrari had a match-high 18 kills and added 12 digs, while junior Nicole Bolash (pictured right) had 11 kills and a match-high 16 kills for the Cougars (16-14, 1-4 NJAC).
In the win, junior setter Tiffany Fischer dished out 25 assists and added 10 digs, while junior middle blocker Maura Burke had six kills and four total blocks.
For the Cougars, senior setter Colleen Masterson dished out a match-high 28 assists and had eight digs and four assisted blocks, and junior Tara Richey added seven kills and four assisted blocks.
Kean returns to action on Saturday, October 23, at the Richard Stockton Quad-Match. The Cougars face off against the host Ospreys in a NJAC match at 10 a.m., before facing Manhattanville College and John Jay College later in the day.
