SOUTH AMBOY — Organist Brenda Day performed Sunday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, as part of the “Music at Saint Mary’s” classical concert series.

St. Mary’s musical director, Christopher M.C. Deibert, invited Day, of Edison, to play St. Mary’s historic 1883 Jardine & Son tracker pipe organ. Deibert said he wanted  to “hear one of New Jersey’s finest musicians perform on one of New Jersey’s greatest instruments.”

Day’s performance featured music by Bach, Vierne and Mendelssohn. She will next be performing a Dec. 19 holiday concert with adult, youth and bell choirs at First Presbyterian Church in Metuchen.
