EDISON — Edison Firefighter Dan Wood shows the children in the Middlesex County College Child Care Center the  helmet and mask he uses when fighting fires. The purpose is so the kids are not intimidated or frightened should they actually be in a house fire and need rescuing. Firefighter Wood also demonstrated tools, let the children climb through the firetruck, and he flashed the lights and sounded the siren, much to the kids’ delight. The presentation was part of the College’s annual Health and Safety Day October 14, in which human service and safety agencies visit campus to help students, faculty and staff learn about how to make their lives healthier.
