PURCHASE, N.Y.– The Kean University women’s volleyball team swept in tri-match action this afternoon defeating both the College of Staten Island and Manhattanville College, 3-0.
In the first matchup the Cougars defeated Staten Island by the scores of 25-10, 25-20, and 25-16. Junior Tara Richey led the way with a match-high 10 kills. Junior Heather Aliotta added seven digs and three service aces while freshman Kaitlin Hansen had five aces in the win.
In the nightcap, Kean defeated host Manhattanville, 28-26, 25-18 and 25-17. Richey again led the way with a .545 hitting percentage with 13 kills and just one error in 22 attempts. She also added a combined four blocks. Junior Nicole Bolash had five kills, eight aces and 12 digs while junior libero Mary Aldana recorded 13 digs.
The Cougars head right back into action as they travel to SUNY College at Old Westbury for a tri-match on Sunday.
