PERTH AMBOY— Mayor Wilda Diaz announced that the City of Perth Amboy’s tax office will be extending their hours to accommodate residents who need to make their payments earlier. The office will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., beginning Oct. 15.
In addition to this accommodation, the Perth Amboy is looking to install a lockbox at City Hall for payment drop-off after business hours. Also, subject to the feedback from Perth Amboy property and business owners, online tax payments may be made for a nominal fees charged by the company service provider. This online program would also allow residents to access their tax account information through the city’s website.
“As we are converting from fiscal year to calendar year we are looking to move forward in the best interest of our residents with limited resources and I look forward to their feedback,” said Diaz.
Taxes are now due by Thursday, Nov. 11.
