Senior Artists Win Recognition in State Contest

MIDDLESEX COUNTY – Art work from professional and non-professional Middlesex County artists over age 60, who participated in the New Jersey Senior Citizens Art Show, is currently on display at Meadows Lakes at 300 Meadow Lakes in East Windsor. The show is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays until Oct. 28.

“We are proud of all our senior artists and are lucky to have such a wealth of artistic talent in Middlesex County,” said Freeholder Blanquita B. Valenti, chairwoman of the County’s Committee of Human and Services and Aging.”


“I congratulate all of our local winners,” said Freeholder Director Christopher D. Rafano. “Middlesex County was very well represented in this year’s state contest.”

The winners are:

1st Place Professional Mixed Media – Maxine King of Woodbridge

2nd Place Professional Oil – Jules Weber of Port Reading

2nd Place Professional Photography – Edward Hughes of North Brunswick

2nd Place Non-Professional Photography – Claude Heller of Monroe Township

Honorable Mention Non-Professional Craft – Eva Hoefele of Colonia

Honorable Mention Non-Professional Drawing – Allie Skislak of East Brunswick

Honorable Mention Non-Professional Pastel – Leona Cheung of Iselin

Honorable Mention Non-Professional Sculpture – Julie Toigo of Piscataway
