VAN NUYS, Calif. – More than 150,000 troops will be deployed in Afghanistan and Iraq this holiday season. In thanks for their service, Cinnabon is raising money for Operation Gratitude to send “Hugs from Home” care packages to our nation’s heroes.

From October 1 through 31, Guests can support Operation Gratitude by making donations at participating Cinnabon bakeries. For every $1 they contribute, Guests will receive a $1 “Cinnabuck” valid on their next visit.

Individuals can also use the Twitter hashtag #cinnabonsaysthx to send Tweets for Troops. For every hashtag tweet, Cinnabon will chip in 10 cents to Operation Gratitude, for a maximum donation of $10,000.

In November and December, Cinnabon will also team up with Operation Gratitude to include Kellogg’s® Cinnabon snack bars, Cinnabon Cream of Wheat™ from B&G Foods®, Cinnabon kettle roasted nuts from Mellace Family Brands® and Cinnabon candy canes from Spangler Candy® in the Operation Gratitude Holiday Care Packages.

“This is a delicious, fun and very valuable campaign,” exclaimed Carolyn Blashek, founder of Operation Gratitude. “Our warriors and our supporters will enjoy delicious Cinnabon treats, and the organization will be able to raise funds necessary to pay the postage on our care packages. We are grateful to Cinnabon for this very creative and generous promotion.”

“At Cinnabon, we believe that life needs frosting, and that holds especially true for the brave men and women serving our country,” said Gary Bales, Cinnabon president. “Being far away from home during the holidays is never easy, so we wanted to send our troops some sweet memories of home.”
