Rahway To Resurface Four Streets

RAHWAY – Sections of four Rahway streets will be resurfaced this fall as part of the city’s annual resurfacing project, Mayor James Kennedy announced.

In August, the City Council awarded a $715,803.40 contract to the lowest responsible bidder, AMC Industries of Cliffwood.

The streets that will be resurfaced this fall are:

  1. Midwood Drive (from Milton Blvd. To Elm Terrace)
  2. Jefferson Avenue (from West Lake Avenue to Race Street, West Meadow Avenue to West Inman Avenue, Westfield Avenue to Hamilton Street)
  3. Seminary Avenue (Oliver Street to Church Street)
  4. West Lake Avenue (St. Georges Avenue to Jefferson Avenue)

Weather permitting, this project should be completed by mid-November.

Parking will be restricted on the above streets during resurfacing, and motorists are asked to use extra caution when traveling through the area. The streets will be milled and topped with two inches of new asphalt. Curb repairs will be made where necessary.

Residents may call the Department Public Works and Engineering at 1-732-827-2183 with any construction-related questions.
