UNION – The Kean University women’s volleyball team swept in tri-match action on Saturday defeating both John Jay College and Farmingdale State College, 3-0.
In the first matchup of the day Kean won by the final set scores of 25-15, 25-8, 25-10 as they improved to 10-10 this season. Nicole Bolash led the way for Kean as she tallied 10 kills and five digs. Junior Tara Richey collected five blocks (one solo) while libero Mary Aldana had four service aces and six digs.
In the nightcap the Cougars won by the final set scores of 25-21, 25-21, 25-9 to improve to 11-10 overall. Bolash recorded 15 kills and 10 digs while sophomore Katie Schuh added four kills, and three blocks (one solo).
Overall this afternoon senior setter Colleen Masterson tallied 39 assists.
Kean returns to action on Thursday when they host Rutgers-Camden in NJAC action.
