Sign Language Course Teaches Alternative Communication

MOUNTAINSIDE – “My Hands Can Talk,” a program to teach adults how to interact with young children through basic sign language, is now available at Children’s Specialized Hospital, 150 New Providence Road, Mountainside.

This ten-week course will begin on Oct. 21 and run through January 20 every Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Participants will learn basic sign language skills to use for interaction with young children with or without a disability. Any person who interacts with young children is invited to attend, including parents, caregivers, speech language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, etc. Registration fee is $75.
