NEWARK – The Kean University women’s tennis teams won 5-of-6 singles matches en-route to defeating host Rutgers-Newark, 6-3, in New Jersey Athletic Conference action on Wednesday evening.
Juniors Miriam Penafiel and Jessica Oquendo teamed up to post the lone Kean doubles win, while also posting individual victories at third and fifth singles, respectively.
Kean (6-2, 1-2 NJAC) is scheduled to face College of Staten Island on Thursday, September 30, before competing in the NJAIAW tournament this weekend.
