LINDEN – Last week, members of the Linden Police Department’s Narcotics Bureau and agents from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration seized over 130 lbs. of marijuana at an East Linden Avenue business, police said.
Authorities raided Linden Truck Repair on Sept. 16 at 3:07 p.m., following a month-long narcotics investigation. The officers arrested Paterson resident Renaldo R. Ferguson, 31, and Mount Vernon, N.Y. resident Omar A. Andrews, 27, police said.
The seized drugs were worth approximately $500,000, police said.
Ferguson was charged with possession of marijuana, and possession with intent to distribute more than 25 lbs. of marijuana, with bail set at $200,000. Andrews was charged with hindering his own apprehension and exhibiting a false document with bail set at $40,000. Both individuals were transferred to the Union County Jail, pending a court date.
Detectives Kenneth Mikolajczyk, Douglas Fortuna, and Lt. William Turbett made the arrests.
