Lightning, Inclement Weather Affect Kean Field Hockey, Soccer Games

UNION – The heavy storms that rolled through the New Jersey area affected the Kean University men’s and women’s soccer games against Rutgers-Newark and the field hockey contest at Montclair State University on Wednesday evening.

The women’s soccer game at Kean was delayed just 10 minutes into the contest with the Cougars leading 1-0 and was eventually postponed. The game will be replayed in its entirety from the beginning on Friday, October 8th, at 7:30 p.m.


The men’s soccer game at Rutgers-Newark was delayed at halftime with a scoreless tie and will also be replayed from the beginning on a date yet to be determined.

The field hockey team trailed 3-0 with 7:53 remaining in the first half at Montclair State University when the game was halted and will resume from the point of stoppage on a date to be determined.
