Benedictine Academy Holds “Welcome Back Cookout”

ELIZABETH — The Benedictine Academy Parents Association held a “Welcome Back Cookout” at the school in Elizabeth on Saturday, Sept. 18.

Many new and returning school families and friends attended and enjoyed a great afternoon, complemented by plenty of burgers, hot dogs, corn, plus homemade entrees, salads and desserts prepared for the event. A tuition raffle and a gift basket raffle were held. Students at the Academy supervised entertainment for children who attended.

Favorite family recipes were a hit. Many attended the event, which is held each year to welcome new families and celebrate the start of the new academic year for all.

A few hours at the grill on a beautiful fall day passed quickly for Martha Devia of Elizabeth, a school parent helping out at Benedictine Academy’s annual “Welcome Back Cookout” held September 18. Devia and other parents cooked many burgers and hot dogs for the large crowd that attended the Benedictine Academy Parents Association annual event.

A $500 tuition raffle was held at the Benedictine Academy “Welcome Back Cookout” on September 18. The winner was school parent Mia Yarbough of Newark (far right).
