PERTH AMBOY — The Perth Amboy Royal Garden Club By The Bay has announced plans for the club’s annual tea, “Through The Garden Gate, An Afternoon Tea.”  The event will be held on Saturday, Oct. 9, at St. Peter’s Parish House, 183 Rector Street, from 2-6 p.m. Tickets are $25 each.

The program, “Celebrating The Season,” will feature a demonstration by renowned designer Carole Iuso who will be arranging fall fruits and vegetables.

This elegant tea sells out quickly because of the delicious home-made finger sandwiches and tea cakes made by members who serve tables set with members’ own personal china.  Thus each table has its own distinct look and personality different from the others.

Proceeds from this fundraiser benefit the beautification of Perth Amboy through the club’s creation and maintenance of public gardens throughout the city and other civic projects.

Because seating is limited to 100 guests, paid reservations will be accepted on a “first come, first served” basis.

To reserve a place, send requests for tickets accompanied by a check for $25 each made payable to the Royal Garden Club by the Bay, to Joy Williamson, 546 Hazel Avenue, Perth Amboy, NJ  08861.  For more information, call Lisa Nanton at 1-732-324-2361 or Joy Williamson at 1-732-826-8421.
