Lenahan Chiropractic Helps NJ Blood Services Save Lives

SOUTH AMBOY — At a time when the blood supply is dangerously low due to summer shortages in area hospitals, Lenahan Chiropractic Center in South Amboy is sponsoring a blood drive that will help NJ Blood Services in their mission to save lives, and also benefit the children in the Boys & Girls Clubs of Perth Amboy and Monmouth County.

For every pint of blood that is donated at the Center on Sunday, Sept. 26, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Dr. Tim Lenahan will donate $10 to the Boys & Girls Club. If donor participation should reach their goal of 50 units, Lenahan will double that contribution up to $1,000.

“Many of my patients have friends and family who, over the years, have required blood transfusions,” Dr. Lenahan noted. “It is clear that the need for blood is a continuous one and donating blood is such a self-less act.”

He said that aside from sponsoring a blood drive and helping to save lives, he wanted to make it an all-around community services event with a financial contribution to an organization which has historically been a powerful and effective advocate of empowering children through education by positive role models.

“I want each participant to leave our office on Sept. 26 knowing that they have directly helped hundreds of people in the community,” Lenahan added.

The Lenahan Chiropractic Center is at 346 Bordentown Avenue in South Amboy. Each presenting donor will receive a coupon for a free slice of pizza, compliments of South Amboy Pizza located next to the Center.

Eligible donors should be 17 years of age, or 16 with parent consent. Persons 76 years and older are eligible to donate with a doctor’s note.
