Seton Hall Men’s Basketball Announces Full Schedule

SOUTH ORANGE – The BIG EAST unveiled the 2010-11 men’s basketball conference schedules for all 16 member schools on Friday. Combined with its non-conference schedule, Seton Hall will host 15 games in its fourth season at Prudential Center in Newark.

The Pirates will open the season on the road on Friday, November 12 at Temple. Their home opener will be Sunday, November 14 vs. Cornell. Seton Hall’s first BIG EAST game of the season will also be at the Prudential Center vs. USF on Tuesday, December 28.


Seton Hall will host William Paterson University in exhibition action on Friday, November 5 at Walsh Gym before beginning the home regular season schedule on November 14 vs. Cornell at the Prudential Center. In addition to the Big Red, the Pirates non-conference schedule features home games against Saint Peters (Nov. 29), Longwood (Dec. 13), NJIT (Dec. 19), Dayton (Dec. 22) and Richmond (Dec. 26).

On Friday, November 19, Seton Hall will face Alabama in the first of three neutral games as part of the 2010 U.S. Virgin Islands Paradise Jam. The Pirates’ second game will be against either Iowa or Xavier on Nov. 20 or 21. A third game, with the opponent to be determined, will be played on Nov. 22.

Seton Hall will also be participating in the 2010 DIRECTV SEC/BIG EAST Invitational on Wednesday, December 8. The Pirates will face Arkansas at 7:00 pm at Freedom Hall in Louisville, Ky.

Non-conference road opponents for the Pirates include Temple (Nov. 12) and Massachusetts (Dec. 11).

Seton Hall’s BIG EAST schedule features a home-and-home series with Marquette, Rutgers and Syracuse. In addition to their opener vs. USF, the Pirates will host Syracuse (Jan. 8), Georgetown (Jan. 18), Rutgers (Jan. 22), Providence (Jan. 30), Connecticut (Feb. 5), Villanova (Feb. 15), St. John’s (Mar. 3) and Marquette (Mar. 5). Additionally, the Pirates will play road games at Cincinnati (Dec. 31), Louisville (Jan. 5), DePaul (Jan. 12), Pittsburgh (Jan. 15), Syracuse (Jan. 25), West Virginia (Feb. 2), Rutgers (Feb. 12), Marquette (Feb. 19) and Notre Dame (Feb. 26).

The BIG EAST Championship, which again will include all 16 schools, begins on Tuesday, March 8 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
