NEW BRUNSWICK—State Theatre and Star 99.1 present MercyMe and special guest Phil Wickham in the LOVEWELL LIVE tour on Thursday, Oct. 14, at 8 p.m.
Named “Christian Song Artists of the Decade” by Billboard Magazine, MercyMe has sold over six million records, scored 22 number-one singles on the gospel charts, and performed for more than five million people. Tickets range from $15-60. Tickets available at State Theatre Ticket Office, iTickets, and Star 99.1
MercyMe’s latest album The Generous Mr. Lovewell sold nearly 90k copies its first week, debuted at No. 3 on Billboard’s Top 200 chart and No. 1 Christian SoundScan, and has already garnered the band a No. 1 single with “All of Creation.” On Lovewell Live the multi-platinum selling band will be performing some of their biggest hits in addition to new material from The Generous Mr. Lovewell including their new single “Beautiful,” which goes to radio Sept. 17.
Throughout the year MercyMe has put their message to love well into action by helping those in need by serving at Rescue Missions along the west coast, helping build a home in Danville, Va., assisting in a can food drive, and helping restore a jobless woman’s car in Las Vegas. Believing that sharing these stories can help create a movement that literally could change the world, the band is asking fans to share their lovewell moments at www.mrlovewell.com.
MercyMe is a Christian Contemporary band formed in 1994 by its members while working on a mission project overseas. It was not long before the band gained a solid fan base and began opening for bands such as Audio Adrenaline. In 2001, MercyMe released their first album, Almost There, which included the mainstream hit “I Can Only Imagine.” Almost There went on to sell 2 million records in three years and earned the band an American Music Award Nomination. In 2002, the band released their popular second album, Spoken For, which produced two more Top 10 hits. By 2004, MercyMe released Undone, which produced two Top 10 hits including “Here With Me” and “In the Blink of an Eye.”
