The Berenstain Bears have enchanted young readers for generations. Matt Murphy Productions’ The Berenstain Bears in “Family Matters” the Musical is a fun-filled new musical that weaves together three of Stan and Jan Berenstain’s most popular books: The Berenstain Bears Learn about Strangers, The Berenstain Bears and Too Much Junk Food and The Berenstain Bears’ Trouble at School.

There’s trouble in the treehouse… Brother Bear has trouble with a school quiz, so he hides it in the cookie jar. Sister Bear makes friends with a frog and hides it in the cookie jar. Papa has been eating candy when he’s supposed to be on a diet, and the wrapper ends up in the cookie jar… It’s up to Mama to follow the cookie trail and sort things out!

“I am honored to bring the beloved Berenstain Bears to life on stage,” says producer Matt Murphy. “This heart-warming musical will give a new generation of young readers a chance to fall in love with these characters, just as I did when I was a child. Our talented creative team has done a marvelous job in adapting these stories and their important life lessons into an entertaining family musical. I am looking forward to seeing this production thrive in the educational touring market for many years to come.”

Tickets are available at the UCPAC Box Office at 1-732-499-8226 or online at  The UCPAC Box Office, located at 1601 Irving Street, Rahway, is open Wednesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m.
