Photo Contest Focuses On New Jersey Nature And Wildlife

EDISON – The state’s only daily nature blog,, has launched a statewide photo contest to spotlight nature, wildlife and scenery in the Garden State. The contest runs through Nov. 30.

“Though our reputation is not always the greatest, New Jersey is a state with more biodiversity and wildlife habitats than anywhere else its size in America,” says Jillian Weislo, manager of “This photo contest seeks eye-catching photos that can capture the Garden State’s spectacular range of beautiful scenery and charismatic wildlife.”

Prizes will be awarded in four categories: Wildlife, Nature and Scenery, People in Nature, and a Juniors category for photographers under 18 years of age. All photographs must be taken in New Jersey, and up to five entries can be submitted per person. Prizes include gift certificates for iTunes and merchandise.

Entries can be emailed to or uploaded via the webpage: was founded in 2008 by nature writer David Wheeler of the non-profit Edison Wetlands Association. It offers both original and statewide news, photo essays, and videos on nature, wildlife, and environmental issues in New Jersey.
