ELIZABETH–Young women in grades 6-8 from all area schools are invited to participate in Benedictine Academy’s “CSI Science Contest”, on Saturday, Sept. 25, from 9 a.m. – noon at the school. The event will offer students a chance to learn how science can help solve the mysteries of criminology.
Earlier this summer, principals of area elementary schools received invitations asking them to encourage their science teachers to form student teams to participate. The event will feature teams of 3-6 students, along with a faculty advisor, performing basic crime lab investigations. Members of the Elizabeth Police Department’s Crime Scene Investigation Unit will be on hand to lend instruction and insights into how the unit conducts investigations.
Awards will be presented to the top three teams. The contest is hosted by the Benedictine Academy Science Department. The registration deadline is Tuesday, Sept. 21. Contact Ms. Branco at 1-908-352-0670 ext. 104 to register or for more information.
Benedictine Academy is located at 840 N. Broad Street in Elizabeth.
