EDISON — The Wardlaw-Hartridge School in North Edison recently sent its varsity cheerleaders to the Pine Forrest Cheerleading Camp at Chestnut Lake in Beach Lake, Pa.

Tanda Tucker of Bernardsville, cheerleading coach and Middle School art teacher, reported, “The team performed well and while some stunt groups were learning the basics, other groups were learning twist cradles, basket tosses and new transition stunts. The team placed fourth in the Camp Championship in the cheer division and was also acknowledged as a squad that showed great improvement at camp.”

In addition, cheerleaders Ashley Martin of Edison, a junior, and Valentina Margiottiello of Colonia, a sophomore, were named All-American Cheerleaders and have the opportunity to perform in the London 2011 New Year’s Parade in London, England.
