EDISON – New Jersey Chapter of NAIOP, the commercial real estate development association, will present “Solar/Renewable Energy Systems: How to choose, design, finance, install, insure and even profit from a sustainable/clean energy system that works for you” on Oct. 13. The nuts-and-bolts program will be held at the Sheraton Edison. Registration is available now at www.naiopnj.org.
Solar installations are increasing in New Jersey and across the nation. Developers and building owners who are considering solar (or another sustainable/renewable system) for their properties will hear a wealth of detailed information from three panels of experts: incentives, financing, regulatory compliance, partnerships with your utility company, and the myriad legal, taxation and insurance issues surrounding the brave new world of clean energy.
NAIOP New Jersey Education Committee Co-Chair Rob Crespi, of Wolff & Samson, will provide an overview of the program. Assemblyman Upendra Chivukula, Chair of the Assembly Telecommunications and Utilities Committee, will discuss energy initiatives from a public policy perspective. The three expert panels will cover: evaluating your specific needs and potential; choosing the right system; structuring a deal; realistic expectations for return on your investment; tax implications; finding and applying for State and utility-sponsored programs; net metering and SRECS; compliance and regulatory issues; investments and funding options; roof and structural concerns; selling back to the grid; and insurance and warranties.
Speakers will include: Jeff Milanaik, Heller Industrial Parks; Brad Campbell, Brad Campbell LLC; Steve Kisker, Wolff & Samson; George Livanos, Sax Macy Fromm & Co. P.C.; Timothy Comerford, PSE&G; Art Kuyumchian, Sunco Industrial; Jack Fersko, Farer Fersko; Charlie Goulding, Energy Tax Savers, Inc.; and Dave Jenkins, Allied Building Products. As an added benefit, a number of energy consultants and providers will have tabletops with information that attendees can take home.
Registration/Continental Breakfast begins at 7:45 a.m., followed by the program from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. The cost is $75 for NAIOP NJ members and employees of Corporate Member Firms, $95 for colleagues employed with a NAIOP member’s firm, and $115 for non-members.
